Bullet point #3, “Implement measurement and tracking mechanisms to demonstrate ROI of learning and development initiatives.”, gets my attention. For me, it is critically important to measure the extent to which training and learning contributes to human and business performance.

When I measure impact, I’m chasing after facts, clues, evidence, and data that reveal how training programs and learning solutions are influencing behavior, actions, skills, performance, and ultimately, business goals. I connect the dots between training and measurable outcomes.

When we have credible, reliable signals for the impact of training and learning on human and business performance, we are better able to align our L&D budget with what matters most. And for me, what matters most is revealing ROI with evidence that supports learning effectiveness, impact, and contribution.
