Talent Beacon Spotlight: Eglantine Gee
Eglantine “Eggy” Gee thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution - where clarity meets complexity and learning turns into real-world action. As a Senior Learning and Performance Consultant at Farm Credit Canada, she partners with leaders and teams to diagnose performance challenges, design human-centred development solutions, and build learning ecosystems that drive lasting behaviour change.
From Marketing to L&D — An Earned Path
Eggy's path into L&D wasn't planned - it was earned. She started her career in marketing and operations, moved into HR where she spent years hiring and onboarding at scale, and gradually discovered that her favorite part of the work wasn't bringing people in - it was helping them succeed once they arrived. That realization led her to formal learning and talent development roles, where she began designing programs tied directly to business needs. A pivotal moment came when she joined the L&D team at Bell, where supportive leaders gave her room to think strategically and step fully into her strengths.
What Makes Her Approach Different
What makes Eggy's approach distinctive is her marketing background. She doesn't just deliver programs - she positions and promotes learning experiences people actually want to engage with. That lens drives stronger adoption and impact, which is ultimately what separates good intentions from real behaviour change.
In 2026, Eggy is excited about how AI can make learning less clunky - more personalized, more timely, and truly embedded in the flow of work. But she's quick to challenge the myth that every problem is a training problem:
Sometimes it's about process, systems, clarity, or leadership behaviours. Not everything falls on L&D's shoulders.
Her advice for anyone looking to grow? Get close to the work and do the unglamorous parts. That's where real learning happens.
Beyond the Work
Outside of work, Eggy spends time with her two pre-teen daughters, engages in friendly hockey rivalry with her husband, and - fun fact - didn't try peanut butter until her 30s.
